Math and science are often demanding subjects throughout the elementary, junior high, and high school curriculum, and they are necessary for the overall success of all students. Acknowledging the financial burden of supplementary education in the form of private tutoring sessions (often upwards of $30/hr), the founders of SHINE recognized a need for affordable and accessible academic support in HRM and throughout Nova Scotia. SHINE aims to support students in these challenging subjects and to offer this support completely free of charge!

Our tutors are university students and young professionals that have elected to donate their time and energy in support of the academic success of our local youth.
