About Us

We are SHINE Academics - a group of like-minded individuals dedicated to Supporting, Helping, & Inspiring through Non-profit Education. Located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, we provide free math and science tutoring to our students. With many helping hands, we have collectively developed a program that emphasizes the importance of education within community. Whether you are a student looking for support, an individual or business hoping to contribute, or a volunteer with a bit of extra time, we welcome you to join us!

SHINE Academics is almost entirely run by volunteers. Financial contributions from donors are put toward operational costs (e.g. healthy snacks, learning supplies, etc.), scholarship funds for graduating SHINE students pursuing post-secondary education, and costs associated with expansion of the program. We are infinitely grateful for all of the support we have received, in the form of time, funds, space, and goods. All of you are what make this program possible. Thank you!
